Cliff Notes of our story...

It all began in 1998 at Marshall University in Huntington, WV.  We met in Dr. Moore's Juvenile Justice Administration class.  We were both criminal justice majors...Henry was going to be a police officer, I was going to be a private investigator.  Guess what?  Things change!  Plans change!  Neither one of us became either of those things, but we did both graduate.  Fast forward to 2003, we were married.  2005 brought our first son.  2009 brought our 2nd son.

December 6, 2013...changed our lives.  Henry's brother passed away very unexpectedly, very suddenly at the age of 43.  From a heart attack.  We were devastated.  We are still devastated.  It made us very aware of the fact that you are here one minute and gone the next.

We all decided, as a family, that we would move to Florida where we have lots of family.  Our original plan was to move to Florida for a trial year.  (See...I'm not a fan of Florida...but I was willing to give it a try).  We would just rent out our house here in Ohio and rent a house down in Florida.  Things changed.

Another idea formed.  Why don't we LIVE in an RV?  We already homeschool.  The job that my husband is getting just requires internet and cell phone connection.  We love long car trips.  We love to explore and experience new things.  I love camping (Henry does not share this love...just yet).  We have boys who love to be outside.  I wasn't thrilled with establishing strong, deep roots in Florida when I didn't know if I could handle it...even for just a year.  It all made sense.

So here we are...
Scurrying around trying to make this all happen.  I read recently online that when people decide to live in an RV, they take 18-24 months to make the transition happen.   We're trying to do it in 3 months!   (There's so much to it! So much more than a house-to-house move).  I'm not complaining, though.  How incredibly lucky we are to be able to go on this adventure!
