New Orleans East Kampground

The campground that we stayed at in New Orleans was called
It actually was about 30 miles east of
New Orleans in a little town called Slidell.

It was probably 7th or 8th on my list of places that I called to reserve a spot.  Little did I know that we were there the week that the 'French Quarter Festival' started.  Everywhere was booked.

The location ended up being fine.
The campground itself is kinda a sorry
place that needs lots of sprucing up.
Everything is run down....like, way down.

It was fine for a week stay, but we wouldn't stay there long-term.
(Jean, the front office lady, was nice :-)

The 'laundry room' was inside a pod-like structure.
You know those pods that you can use when you are moving?
Looks like a pod was just delivered here and transformed into a laundry room.  Funny enough, when I asked Jean where we were to go in case of severe weather, her first answer was, "We don't get bad weather."  Then, she said, "Well, the laundry room would probably be the safest place."  Again, it is a detached pod that a tornado or hurricane would fling through the air like it was a grain of sand.

You can't really tell from this picture,
but we were incredibly close to the RV that was to the right of us in this picture.  Their slides were out...our slides were out...so we literally could reach inside their RV if we wanted to.  We ended up just keeping our blinds shut.

Mini-Golf course

Mini-golf course that needed lots of TLC.

See the little wooden cabin in the background...that was the office.

There was a pool, but...

Pool for humans?
Or for animals?

It is a concrete pool that needs resurfaced in a bad way.
Needless to say, we didn't swim.
The water seemed clean, but it wasn't warm enough.

Major need of some landscaping.

We rescued the frog.

Checkers and Chess

The 'playground' was 3 swings, 1 baby swing, and 1 teeter totter.
All as old as me.

Even the signs need a good power washing.

We would stay here again if we had to...for a short amount of time.
A week...max.
