Henry's 40th Birthday in Vegas

Henry's 40th birthday was June 2nd.
We celebrated 'Vegas-style'....
well, in a very tame family-oriented Vegas-style.

He had to work on this birthday.
Boooo.

The boys and I gave him his gifts when we woke up.

So we joke that he got me new tires for our RV for my birthday....
so....
I got him new emergency roadside triangles
and a flashing disk that is magnetic that will stick on the back of our RV
IN CASE WE EVER BREAK DOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AGAIN.

Yep.  He's a fan.

I'm sure you've seen the 'Get Along Shirt' that siblings are forced to wear to force them to get along.
I have never had my kids wear such a shirt.
I could just imagine bad things happening with them in such close proximity when their tempers are flaring.  Anyway...they came to me this morning all smiles and giggles in one of Henry's shirts.
I told them some kids are forced to wear this as punishment.
They said, "This isn't punishment!  This is fun!"

Kitty Cat nap for the birthday boy.
He has to start work around 5:00 am since his work is east coast based
(we are in the Pacific time zone).

I was a total slacker for his 'cake'.
I BOUGHT a STORE-BOUGHT PIE!
A lemon meringue one...his favorite...
but I didn't make a homemade one and I didn't make him a cake.
Totally unlike me, but we all survived.
(I made the boys a chocolate cream pie since they don't like lemon).

That evening we took a 'Night-time Big Bus Tour'.
DON'T DO IT!!
We spent $120 for us 4 to ride this bus!
We had a coupon to use, but was told 'Oh, that's only good for day-time tours'...so we couldn't use it.
The 'tour' was 3 hours long.
We rode down the strip from Circus Circus hotel down to the famous Vegas sign, then circled around the sign and rode it all the way down to Freemont Street.
We weren't allowed off the bus during this time at all.
Once we got to Freemont Street, they let us off for 1 hour to experience the craziness of Freemont Street.  We had never been to Freemont Street.  We had no idea how not kid-appropriate it was....
naked people walking around, people dressed in costumes of all kinds, smell of weed in the air, loads of drunk people, etc.  Sage hated it all.  He's so my son.
Scott didn't like it either, but he was able to 'tolerate' it.

The worse part of the 'night-time tour' was that it wasn't NIGHT TIME!
The last 30 minutes of the tour was dark, but we just expected to be driving down the strip after dark with all the lights....but nope.

Thought of my cousin when I saw this store.

Little Scott fell asleep probably 20 minutes into the bus tour.

Still sleeping.
So glad we paid $30 for him to sleep on a bus.

Don't let go of daddy!

LOOK!  LOOK!
Sage and Scott walked hand-in-hand through a casino!
I think they both were so overwhelmed they found comfort in each other.

Aquarium inside a casino restaurant.
Forget which one.
